    Hi there,

So.. I have an issue that was on old wordpress and it is on wordpress 5 too.
Being a photographer, means I need to upload between 100 and 200 pictures in a blog post. Last year, everything was fine, no errors.. but at some point when I was uploading a batch of, let’s say, 150 images, after 40 or 50 images uploaded, it gave me an error, HTTP ERROR and it stuck there. Sometimes it just doesn’t show any error and stucks on the upload, and I have to start it from scratch.

I have changed the hosting company and with the new one still does the same.. so it’s not a hosting thing..

The only way I can upload all my 150 pictures into a blog post, is to upload a maximum of 20 at a time, then 20 more and so on..

Any idea of what can be wrong with my wordpress site?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Zuzu,

I’ve run into this issue a number of times. In my case, it was always the size of the image causing the browser to time out and trigger the HTTP error. The image size being anywhere close to the max upload size seems to a problem but also the dimensions and resolution can cause an issue. Keeping your images below 2000px and under 96dpi seems to help the uploading process run more smoothly.

The other option is to upload via FTP or in your File Manager inside your Cpanel if you have access to it:)

    Hope that helps!

@zuzu-zuzu You can try uploading large files using your ftp client(ex. Filezilla), just contact your hosting provider for an ftp account and its credentials.

But what I don’t understand.. nothing changed in the way I upload pictures, but nothing, and since nowhere it just started to do this. I don’t think that’s normal to upload 20 pictures at a time, or use the ftp, or things like this, when it worked at some point. My pictures are 72dpi, around 500kb.. so this is not the reason. The limit per file is 256mb.

You may try reaching out to your hosting provider to increase the memory limit, upload and post max size.
