• i can’t upload images to my wordpress 2.0.2 blog. The error is: “The uploaded file could not be moved to .” The upload folder configured is “…../wp-content/images”

what could be wrong? the server is running linux and the folder has afaik the right rights ??

    thx

  • What are the rights on wp-content/images? And, more importantly, who is the owner of it?

    RWXRWXRWX

owner is web0 from group www-data on a confixx-based system

Well stick a fork in me…

I have nothing useful to suggest to try next! Unless my eyes are crossed (again) that sure looks wide open. So, “webo” is the process owner of your web server too, right? Then presumably RWXR–R– would suffice as well.

Hmm.. yeah, still no useful ideas. :-\ Fortunately, there are many folks here brighter than I am.

well the strange thing all about this situation is that the phptmp folder has exactly the same rights and works fine!

is a better error message (maybe from apache itself) anywhere?

another question btw: all php files are owned by root: is that maybe a problem? or even a security issue?

Presumably, apache is generating an error log. mine are found at /var/log/httpd/error_log

(and that’s about as far as I can go here on apache support!)
