Image upload corrupts small images, but larger images are fine

The larger image is fine, but smaller image has a broken link preview.

The image opens fine in a browser, https://3s-pos.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/yalla3-300×75.png

This image, https://3s-pos.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/verifone136x80.png shows a server error 500. Many, many things can cause that. Using the file manager provided by your host can you see that image in the uploads directory?

Yes I can see the image in the uploads directory.

I’m not sure if this information helps but wordpress has created different sizes of the first image but not of the second image. The second image is as uploaded.

Ok, I think I solved it.

I found where the temp upload folder was on my server and checked the user groups and permissions.

Following the video I added IUSR principal and gave the necessary permissions. This didn’t solve it but when I checked the IIS_IUSR principle it didnt have read/write permissions enabled.

Now I can upload smaller images and it doesn’t give me a broken image link or a 500 server error.

Will do a few more tests and update if it has been fully resolved.
