hey.

i have trouble with images that i upload.

this is the image i uploaded. can you see it ? to me it says, impossible to show image due to server error.
(uploaded not via ftp but via wordpress ADD MEDIA)
the upload results in (as defined via SETTINGS > MEDIA):

all 3 of them i can see.

so far so good.
my problem:

the exact same image ! one uploaded via ftp, one via ADD MEDIA.

apparently, when uploaded with ADD MEDIA, the full size file (if it does not correspond to one of the “defined” sizes in SETTINGS > MEDIA), is not usable in a page or a post, and not even viewable as a direct link, even tho i see the file in the ftp browser (it does exist, i can download and test it, it is normal on my desktop).

HELP !! PLEASE !!

If you upload through FTP May be it`s not correct path to upload because upload images is year and month format
the correct path is
https://beta.maringorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/L1350377.jpg
so if you upload through FTP just uploaded it here hope it`ll help you.

nope, it is not a path issue.
i have set wordpress to NOT sort photos by date (as i don’t like that).
all full-size images uploaded with wordpress get server-errors in display !

another example:

files created on server, when uploading via wordpress are all visible / work:

Try checking your site’s error logs for a more specific error message. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs.

ok.
my server admin checked. all the files pointed out on top (the full-size) had NO USER rights.
he said i have to cross-check with my ftp app, which i will do later.
but those photos were NOT uploaded with the ftp app, but the WORDPRESS MEDIA UPLOADER.

how come this kills the user rights for the full-size photo ?!?

It shouldn’t do but this can happen on some servers where the wrong rights are allocated to WordPress when it is installed. It’s server-specific, so you would need to speak to your hosts about this.

ok, cross-checking with my server admin.
he already found out, that those full-size images uploaded via wordpress ADD MEDIA had no user rights.
checking again. any idea from your side ?
