Image Upload and Thumbnail Hacks

Hello, I’m building a news blog. And I was wondering what the code would be for the following:

I will include an image upload with every post. Id like a thubmnail to appear on the main listing of headlines (with the trimmed post) and then Id like the full image to appear in the post (at a fixed location)

Does anybody have any suggestions on how i can achieve this?
