    Hi there,

Thanks for the great plugin. I am wondering why most of my users are missing the “upload image” button on the comment form, when they are viewing the site on their mobile phone. THe “enable media upload” is on.

Thanks in advance for any help. I am sorry, but the site I am talking about is a private group and I am not able to give you credentials to see it.

Is this something you are familiar with?

I have narrowed down the problem to having to do with roles. When user has admin role, it shows up… whene user has “customer” role (woocommerce), its hidden.

How can I activate the button for that user role?

    Thanks

    Hi @makeshyfttom,

Please let us know do you use the wpDiscuz default attachment or the wpDiscuz Media Uploader addon?

I’m not using the addon, just the default image upload function.

    Hi @makeshyfttom,

whene user has “customer” role (woocommerce), its hidden.

As it’s already mentioned here the default “Attach an image” button is only available for the post, pages, and attachments post types, and for default WordPress user roles. For custom post types and custom user roles, the button is not accessible. For more advanced features, we recommend to check out the wpDiscuz Media Uploader add-on.

Just to clarify, you are saying that if you have a custom user role, the single image attachment function will no longer work?

This will only work with the addon?

yes. the icon for the standard image upload will not show up for woocommerce roles. I don’t know about the advanced uploader, but I don’t want to use that addon on this project. If you know a little php however, this is quite easily remedied.

    Hi @makeshyfttom,

I’m sorry but there is not an easy and quick code for this. It requires a lot of custom coding and integration. And this work is already done in the addon I mentioned above.

    Yes, you are right.

Okay – But, if you get the addon, custom user roles and custom posts can access the image upload etc…?

Yes, you will be able to use the file uploading functionality for custom user roles and for custom post types.
