Image Sizes.. Need some help please!

    I am going nuts here.. What size do I make my images? I have a gallery of doors that I want to display and they have come to me in a variety of sizes. I want to use the lightbox feature so that when a user clicks on a door, it comes up in an expanded view.

    I have an issue where I have two images, one which shows fine, the other it doesn’t show the height as the one next to it even though the images have the same height resolution. If I mess with the settings it will then match the height but not show the complete image. When I try to edit the thumbnail to make it the full image, the selection box only goes about a 1/4 way. Any advice?

    @jmargel – The Lightbox Effect will display the original image (or possibly re-sized maintaining the current aspect ratio) … it does not specifically display the thumbnail image.

    If you want the images to be uniform in size for all of your doors you will need to make those images uniform in size in some fashion (generally before uploading them in many cases) so that they appear uniform in the Lightbox display.

    Would it be because the width of some images are less than others? My concern is not the lightbox display, but the thumbnail, some images are short than others.

    @jmargel – Varying image dimensions will often cause varying thumbnail sizes, if you want to show the entire door you will need to do something with the images that are not as wide as the others to maintain a unified look.

    If you do not need to display the entire door you could use the crop option when creating thumbnails but I do not believe that is the “look” you are trying to achieve.
