    Hello,

WPBakery Page Builder allows to choose image sizes in several elements. However, this selector seems to be incompatible with Smush. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a Smush issue?

    Steps to reproduce:

    – Use WPBakery Page Builder on a page
    – Disable Smush
    – upload a high-res image #1
    – Enable Smush
    – upload a high-res image #2 (can be the same image)
    – Use WPBakery to create a page
    – add image #1 and image #2 in a lower resolution (e.g. 150×150 cropped)

    Results:
    – image #1 (uploaded while Smush was disabled) will appear correctly in low-res
    – image #2 (uploaded while Smush was enabled) will appear incorrectly in high-res

    Hi @jecat01,

    Thank you for contacting us.

I have not seen this behavior with wp bakery on my demo site. Could you please confirm if you currently have any other plugin or theme options that can optimize images?

Also, please upload the images used in your test to a drive link and share it with us here, so we can test this on a demo site.

    Best,

    Hello Jonathan,

    Thank you for checking.

The affected website is running the “Impreza” theme which recommends Smush for image optimization. The theme itself offers additional image sizes though. You can try it on their time-limited test drive: https://themetest.net/impreza/

In my test screenshot above, I only had WPBakery enabled, and the Theme’s own plug-in. Smush was disabled / enabled for the upload as described. All other plug-ins were disabled.

Find my test image files here:

I was in touch with Impreza’s support team too, but they replied that the bug also occurs when using the Twenty Nineteen theme and that I therefore should check with you.

    Best,
    Johannes

    Hi @jecat01

I hope you are doing well.

Sorry for the delay here, seems we didn’t receive the reply notification.

I made some tests using https://themetest.net/impreza/ and I was able to replicate the problem, I also toggled the Smush > Integration > WPBakery, but made no difference.

We are going to report to the plugin team this situation.

I’m afraid we can’t give an estimated time to release a fixed version, but kindly keep the plugin updated.

    Best Regards
