I have removed all default image sizes from my WP site (thumbnail, medium, medium_large, large), so the only image that gets stored and used is “full size”. Yet the image block of GenerateBlocks shows thumbnail, medium, and large along with full size. Are these custom defined sizes? What happens if I select something other than full size – will the size be defined for my site?

    Hi there,

WordPress still recognizes that the size name exists, which is why it displays in the dropdown.

The actual size of the image will depend on the settings you’ve set. In this case, it looks like they will all display the full size image (if that’s what setting them to 0 does).

Thanks Tom! That makes sense. I recently found out that WordPress also has “hidden” sizes for 1536×1536 and 2048×2048, which I have now disabled. Wonder what other sizes are there…I’d really like WordPress to not create different image sizes on my behalf.

It would certainly be nice if it was easier to disable all auto-image creation.

    Glad I could help!
