Re-addressing this post. (This past season was too busy to give much time to this situation, but lots of changes for this website are on the horizon, and I don’t want to implement them until this situation is resolved, for fear of losing any further changes.
Not sure if these issues are related (I feel they are, since the problems happen concurrently):
– Images uploaded since migration appear as “no thumbnail” images in Media Library (NOT “no image found” placeholders…that’s a DIFFERENT icon). When I upload a new image, whether via WP, FTP or cPanel file manager, the image WILL appear in Media Library for a limited period of time…ranging from a few minutes to a few days.
Now, typing the URL of the image in a web browser reveals the image, and those images appear on whichever page or post I originally added them, but when selecting the “no thumbnail” icon for a new page or post, no image is presented. I have tried “Regenerate Thumbnails,” which results in the error, “Thumbnails could not be regenerated. Image not found at .” (with no URL after the word “at”)
– At the same time, any posts or pages (new or old) that have had a Featured Image added/changed (since the migration), reverts to “no image” or the Default Featured Image.
– Also, the menu doesn’t save properly. Last week, I had everything lined up perfectly. Was very proud of myself for thinking I had resolved everything. Within the hour, the menu lost about 80% of its options, the featured images were gone, and the newly uploaded images were replaced with “no thumbnail” images in Media Library. I don’t DARE make any changes, no matter how minor, to the existing default menu, for fear of destroying the only menu that is 90% acceptable at this time.
=====
I have:
– Deleted WordPress files and conducted a full download/install.
– Tried a WordPress default theme
– Turned off all plugins (at one time, even deactivating and deleting all plugins)
– Turned off CloudFlare
– Adjusted permissions on the wp-content/uploads folder
Really scratching my head, here.
