• Hello, I wanted to increase the speed of my website and thus was trying to optimize the images as much as possible. However when I add the optimized image of suppose 87kb in wordpress, the media library is showing it is of 377kb almost. I cannot understand what is causing this issue and any help would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Hello,

It’s best to reach the hosting provider and ask them to check. Some image optimization plugins create image duplicates for each media file.
Also, make sure to optimize the DB on a monthly basis and delete all unnecessary options, like past page/post revisions.
Even backup plugins can do that. So it’s best to contact the hosting provider and ask what exactly is causing this because it’s unrelated to any theme.
