Image shows up twice

    I have a short post
    A Paragraph Block and an Image Block.

    The image is being shown twice.

    I assumed this is because of the Featured Image of the Post.

    My understanding is that the Featured Image is used on summary pages. However this is being shown on the Post Detail as well.

    Additionally, i tried to delete the Featured Image as well, but the featured image comes back after i update.

    That would depend on your theme. The theme has control over where the Featured image is displayed.

    Another problem is that it no longer centralizes the images, even if you mark the image it is no longer in the center.

    @otto42 let me try it by using a default WP theme.

    I switched the theme to Twenty Seventeen version 1.7 and the image still shows up.

    the Featured Image Does not get deleted. What other options should i try ?

    The featured image will never be “deleted”, it just gets handled differently by different themes.

    Without specific info, it’s difficult to give you advice. Themes determine how a “featured image” gets used. So, pick a theme, and then explain the issue.

    Basically i was not liking how the theme was showing the Featured Image. So i wanted it (featured image) to not show.

    I tried in both Twenty Seventeen and SiteOrigin Unwind, the featuted image behaviour was same.

    i.e. when i hit “Remove Featured Image” and updated the post, it would still show up on the post view.

    To check i saw the plugins that i have installed and found the plugin doing this.

    Auto Post Thumbnail.

    The plugin was auto-generating the featured image each time, even after removing it. So basically it wasn’t honoring the “remove featured image” action.

    Effectively this issue stands closed. Thanks for the replies @otto

    I shall post a feedback on Auto Post Thumbnail plugin to have this fixed.
