Hello and thank you for this amazing page builder!

I have a question / issue, probably stemming from my inexperience. I’ve searched thoroughly and couldn’t find anything that relates.

I created a page with elementor. The banner, images and such are of relatively big size as I’m working on a HD screen I’ve taken the habit to use images bigger than they should be and then scale them down 50% to ensure they are clear on those screens.

Gtmetrix is upset that I am doing so but otherwise any image looks extremely blurry on my laptop.

The ensuing issue is that the page size, on mobile, is way too big. While my theme and WordPress install seems to generate different image sizes on pages and posts, anything that has gone through Elementor doesn’t.

The end result being that on the phone I’m loading images that are 2000px wide while I only need a fraction. I thought about hiding sections and displaying a different one on the phone but I’ve read that, even if not displayed, the image will still load, thus defeating the purpose.

I feel like I must be missing something important but I couldn’t find.

    I use Astra

    Any help greatly appreciated

Resolved: Cache issue + original image size using Full instead of Large with no Retina plugin. Ex: using a 5000x5000x test image did not resize to any lower on a retina laptop but resized to a smaller size on a retina phone.
