    Hi,

Your plugin has by default an image quality of 92%. Is this the lossy jpeg compression?
I thought nowadays WordPress has a lossy compression of 82% by default, so I find the default 92% of your plugin a bit confusing. Does the plugin change the WP default of 82% to 92%?
Can you tell me a bit more about this setting?

    Thanks.

  • Hi Mark,

JPEG is lossless in any case, even in 100% quality. 92% is the default ratio specified for the compression tools behind reSmush.it to obtain the best quality/weight ratio.
Compression level provided by WordPress using GD library isn’t comparable to reSmush.it optimization as the optimizers used aren’t the same. So it won’t change the WP default ratio.
You can customize this level in your plugin to adjust quality and image weight to your needs.

PS. Do not hesitate to rate our plugin if you like it ??

    Hi guys, great plugin.
A quick question: is it possible to re-optimize the original picture by changing the optimization ratio if an optimization was already previously performed?
My question is: if change the ratio will it then use the original version of the picture or the already optimized one?
