That is the link to the page where I’m getting the image quality loss. If you click on the picture you will see the original file that is the same size – 800 x 320 – but just a lot better quality.

I guess my question is how do I get that “good quality” image to display on the main page?

Any and all help or suggestions would be really appreciated!

  • It appears that that image is being resized:

    300px × 107px (scaled to 680px × 243px)

Try uploading a bigger photo to start with.

But if you click the photo you can see that the image which is uploaded is of a good size and quality…there is no way to tell wordpress to use the original quality? Is the only way to get a good photo displayed on the page to upload an extremely high quality and hope that at the end of wordpress’ re-sizing it still has decent quality?

Would there be a plugin that is recommended for inserting full quality pictures into pages and posts?

No plugin needed. WP does that for you, just choose the size upon placing the image tag into the post content.

In this particular case, choose “size = full”.

Thanks to paulwpxp and WPyogi for helping out with my terribly simple and obvious issue!!!!!
