image problems

Testing 3.1.1 and i’m seeing a few problems with images…

First, a comment that i’m disappointed that one can no longer insert an image from the code editor, which puts an end to working entirely in code, as you have to switch to visual to add an image.

Second, it seems that the only time you can access the media library from the editor is when you first insert an image – you cannot go back later without leaving the editor.

Third, the list of image sizes does not show the sizes (width x height), making it difficult to pick the right size, plus the names of custom sizes seem to be derived from the image size slug, ignoring registered names and their translations.

Fourth, i’m seeing a lot of problems with aligned images simply disappearing in preview and live view, despite the HTML looking identical to what the classic editor outputs. They are disappearing randomly, and it’s not predictable which ones with not show. When i deactivate Gutenberg they display fine.

Fifth, there are problems with image display in the editor when the image is left or right aligned, with the image sometimes being over top of the text. Then when you try to select the image block you cannot – it seems to be converted to a block type called “2 blocks”.
