I’m trying to translate the image from German to English. It gets translated when you click on the image and the lightbox opens. But the preview on the actual site is still the main language image. How to fix this? You can see what I mean on my website on the MSI click bios image.

  • Hello there,

Try to disable lazy load function to see if that solves the issue.

    Best regards,

Do you mean lazy loading of WP Rocket? Did not help.

    Hello,

Yes, that’s what I meant by disabling the Lazy loading function.

You can try to run a conflict test (ideally in a staging environment):

??*Briefly* disable all other plugins and enable the default Twenty Twenty theme. Please also disable all add-ons. If this fixes the problem, as it probably will, enable everything one by one, checking each time to see when the problem returns.

Please let us know when you find the conflict so that we can take a look and see what we can do about it.

    Best regards,
    Cristian

Hey there. Thanks for the idea. Almost forgot about it.

The problem is just the plugin Imagify. If it’s activated the image preview is not being translated. And I found out that is because I’m using the option to optimize to .webp format.

As soon as I enable “Display images on the website in WebP format” it does not work anymore. I guess you can’t do anything about this. But you will know better.

    Okay, I found a fix I guess.

Activating a rewrite rule instead of changing the HTML tag works. But it seems to be an ugly solution.

    Hello there,

When it comes to image optimizing plugins, there isn’t much we can do about it especially if those change the HTML tags which can cause conflict with our Plugin which is using the default page to create the translated versions of the same content.

It’s possible that the rewrite rule is going to work, but as you said that’s an ugly solution and it’s up to you if you want to use it or not.

    I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

    Best regards,
    Cristian
