Image Post Format

If you are getting an error page, then something could be going on with your permalinks settings. Did you make any custom changes to your WordPress permalinks? Go to Settings >> Permalinks, and try the default setting.

Forgot to ask…is this only with the “Image Post format” or does it also bring up the 404 page for standard posts too?

It was indeed the permalinks setting. Since it is back to default, everything is OK with the “Image Post format”.

Happy to hear it’s solved! You should also be OK if you choose one of the other options for permalinks; I usually choose the “Post Name” setting. However if you do custom permalinks, this is where it can run into problems.

But, what counts here is that you have it working ??

Dear André,

I have a new problem, still with the image post format. Would you let me know how to fix it?
All link words appear on the editing screen in the pre-set color. However, when I check the site page, the keywords are black, but the linking is OK. I would like to put visible – colored – link words on the page too.

I hope you are reading this message after a good cup of coffee. I am afraid, you might need a second cup at the end of it… The dumbest problem is coming. The tech-talk is klingon to me, so I made an illustration to explain it.

a) the draft version – “Osteria Fernanda” appears in a slightly different color
b) the published version – here the letters are black, but you will get to the website of the restaurant, if you click on
c) after once you clicked on, it got the customized color

Why is not get the customized color in the published version at first?

Good morning…. a link to your site where this is and I will look at the source code. In the meantime, I will test out my local test site with an image post format.

One thing to note is that on the front-end, when you visit a page from a link you clicked on, and then return, the colour of the link changes to show that you visited that link previously. This only shows to you, not others. But I will test the link colour settings to make sure they are working correctly.

OK,I think I might know what you are talking about.

In the draft version (when you have the post open in your editor), the link is that tan colour with the light grey page background colour.

Then, the published version of the link (on the front-end of the website) is black, the same as the colour of the post text content.

The problem with the customizer in relation to the post editor is that whatever you change in the customizer for colours, it does not reflect in the editor because it applies your preview and the changes to the front-end of the site content, not in the editor.

I just tested the colour settings for the link colour and hover colour. I it worked for me on the front-end where I made my links green and the hover as red. But again, this change won’t show in the post editor; just how the customizer and WordPress works (at least right now).

By the way, is the front-end of your site posts using that darker tan colour behind the content?

I just realized that the hover might mean “background”. Sorry, I am a hopeless amateur.

Please, tell me, in the link/hover color relation which should I change to effect the front-end: the active link or the content link…?

If I understand right, you want to know where the link colour settings are in the “Colours” tab of the customizer?

They are labeled as:

1. Content Links
2. Content Hover Links

I made the changes – retrospectively has not have any effect.
