How do we turn off the Image Optimizer nag that shows in the elementor Edit Image widget. This is annoying…..I will never download this optimizer because I have photoshop which already optimizes.

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us. First and foremost, I hope you’re doing well. I want to express my genuine appreciation for your feedback and sincerely thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.
I have conducted a review on my local host, and I found that clicking the “X” should close the box message and prevent it from appearing again. I would encourage you to try this on your end. If the issue persists or continues to cause inconvenience, I recommend you submit a functionality request. Doing so will provide us with greater insight into your needs and help us tailor our response more effectively.
Please follow this link to submit your request: Send Your Feature Request to Elementor.
Thank you once again for your valuable input. Your feedback is instrumental in helping us improve our services and enhance your experience.
Kind regards,
Clicking x does not prevent it from appearing again. Its nagging about not having alt text, optimized images, etc….
Hello. We’re sorry to hear the issue persists. I tried reproducing this on my end, but was unable to as clicking the “X” resulted in the closing of the Image Optimizer message.
As I was unable to reproduce the issue, I recommend following the standard troubleshooting issues to rule out caching/browser extension conflict, or a conflict with another plugin or the theme.
To eliminate the possibility of a caching-related issue:
- Delete the browser cache/cookies and refresh the website.
- Try using another browser like Firefox, Chrome or Safari. Try also in incognito mode to rule out an issue with an add-on or with the browser cache.
- Clear any cache on the site (from caching plugins) and, if possible, any server-side cache (you may need to ask your hosting provider to do this.
- Flush your DNS cache: How do I flush my DNS cache??
- Try using a different internet/wifi network.
To eliminate the possibility of a plugin/theme conflict:
- Deactivate all of your plugins except Elementor. If this solves the problem, gradually activate your plugins one by one, until you spot the problematic plugin.
- Switch your WordPress theme to Hello Elementor (or another default WordPress theme) temporarily and see if it solves your issue.
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards.
None of this is helpful. I’ve been doing websites for 24 years and this is not a cache issue. And I can’t turn off elementor or a theme on a live site.
This is one of the alerts I’ve gotten. “This image doesn’t contain ALT text – which is necessary for accessibility and SEO.”It comes from line 256 in plugins\elementor\includes\controls\media.php.
With out spending hours digging in the code it seems to be from the “Hints” class.
I really would appreciate if you’d give us a way to turn off hints. We don’t need them.
Hello. Thanks for additional information.
Currently, Elementor does not offer this feature (to completely disable the Image Optimizer hints). If you like, you can submit a Feature Request on Github, which is where we take feature requests. You can submit them at https://github.com/elementor/elementor/issues/new/choose, which provides you with the ability to follow the discussion regarding your submissions, and track development progress of any that get implemented. You can learn more about how to submit requests at https://github.com/elementor/elementor/blob/master/.github/CONTRIBUTING.md
You may also be able achieve this with custom code. You can get assistance for custom code also on our GitHub page, which is monitored by our developers: https://github.com/elementor/elementor.
Kind Regards.
I agree with @sgumby.
This Image Optimiser advertising should not appear ever, if:- An image optimisation plugin is already installed.
- If a site uses CF (Cloudflare users often have image optimisation already in place)
Elementor should at least auto-detect if another image optimisation plugin exists and conditionally does not show the alert/prompt.
Permanently dismissing the alert/prompt (after the fact) is not good enough if a similar plugin is already installed.
Elementor needs to consider its users’ knowledge and understanding, potential confusion, and the technical issues this can cause.
There are no hooks (that I can see) to remove the alert/prompt. Using CSS or JS to stop the output of the PHP (to at least “hide” the alert/prompt) doesn’t work.
If Elementor can’t provide a hook for these alerts/prompts we should be able to stop them from appearing at all via a UI setting.
Please, consider these changes and your users.
I understand this is a business choice but like the failed Fiverr alert/prompt this needs to be reverted or granular control granted.
Lessons have not been learned in my opinion.
Kind regards,
SimonWell, typical answers from Elementor.. “We cannot duplicate the problem”.. uh, ‘Press the X’ etc.. etc.. I won’t use the optimizer for the BIGGEST reason is that it HOGS the entire top portion of the Media page! Forcing you to SEE how ‘Oh so good’ the plugin is working for you.. ‘Elementor is ‘SO’ proud of the Optimizer… it makes them money!.. So, yeah.. they wanna NAG you into PURCHASING IT !
When I mentioned a means of removing the HUGE block from the Media Page… ‘I got just about the same answers we see here’I agree, this keeps appearing no matter how many times i close it. If i refresh the edit page, i get the message again.
Even if it’s a post type that’s not using Elementor, i still get this message.
I get that Elementor has created a new product and want to promote it, but there are ethical ways to do this, without intrusive and repetitive notifications.
I am NOT interested in using the expensive credit-based image optimizer from Elementor, and now i have to be exposed to what’s basically an advertisement, every time i go to upload an image, even if it’s not related to Elementor, as long as Elementor is installed.
The fact that you say you cannot replicate it, is literally not true and i can conform that this has 0 to do with caching – it’s from what i see the way you’ve designed it to work.
PLEASE don’t be like this, and fix it.
A no is a no, and Elementor should respect this.
