Hi! My featured images on some posts are uploaded by url from other sources, not only from my media library – for example from my server where I keep a special folder which is not under WordPress installation or from my Flickr account. Does Optimole optimize those images as well, or only the ones from my Media library?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @schumiholic,

Yes, those images from 3rd party domains can also be optimized and served by Optimole, there is just one additional step needed.

That domain where images are stored should be whitelisted here – https://dashboard.optimole.com/whitelist

After this is done give it some time and Optimole should start serving your resources.
Our documentation that covers this scenario and other possible issues – https://docs.optimole.com/article/1086-why-optimole-does-not-optimize-all-the-images-from-my-site

I hope this helps, let us know if you have any other questions!

Hi! I followed the steps you gave me, but I still have one question: when I add domains to my whitelist, is it enough to just add the domain, or I need to add the subdomains? Like, for example, should I add only staticflickr.com, or should I add c1.staticflickr.com, c2.staticflickr.com etc?

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi @schumiholic,

It’s needed to add subdomains as there isn’t wildcard defined so you’re correct – if your images are stored on both c1.staticflickr.com and c2.staticflickr.com, both should be added instead of staticflickr.com only.

    I hope it helps!
