    @8734669 – Do you see this issue if you temporarily switch to a default WordPress Twenty series theme?

    This issue happens using the Twenty Fifteen theme as well.

    @8734669 – Although I can see NextGEN Gallery is active on your site, the home page is not displaying anything in its slider location (which is not a NextGEN Gallery display being used).

    Have you checked for other conflicts with active plugins as well?

    The client was freaking out about the non-loading of NextGEN so I had to replace the background image with a static image until the issue is resolved. Since the site is live, the client does NOT want me to deactivate other plugins. Can you give me any hints as to what plugins to look for? Or would I be better off loading the previous version of NextGEN until the issue is resolved? I see other people are having issues with the latest update.

    @8734669 – I would recommend creating a mirror of the client site and proceed to do full testing there where it will not affect their production server.
