    Hi,

First of all, thank you for your plugin. I used it for 3 years and it’s basically the first plugin I install on every fresh website I develop!

For the first time, I encounter a problem Autoptimize and more specially with image loading.
The problem occurs only on mobile (iOS). The images added to pages through the Gutenberg block ‘image’ don’t appear on mobile in portrait mode. But If I switch the device from portrait to landscape then to portrait again, they display fine…

After reading some topics here about ‘blank’ images using Autoptimize, I’ve tried to :

    • Uncheck the lazy loading option : Everything works fine.
    • Exclude the ‘plugins/jetpack/_inc/build/lazy-images/js/lazy-images.min.js’ file from the script exclusion option : Images remain invisible until I switch to portrait-landscape-portrait.
    • Disable/Enable the plugin WebP Express : No effects

So, unchecking the lazyload option solve the image displaying problem on mobile but losing the ability to differ the below the fold image display :/
Also, it is hard to debug because using the browser inspector in ‘mobile’, everything is ok.

    What do you think?
Thanks by advance for your help.

If you disable lazyloading in Jetpack (which based on the 2nd item in your list is active) and leave it on in AO, does that help?

    Hi,

    Thanks for the quick reply.
I don’t have Jetpack installed on my website so I realize my second point is useless…

    ah ??

well, I have not heard of specific issue of lazysizes (the JS library used by AO for lazyloading) with iOS in portrait mode, but hard to troubleshoot indeed. maybe disable lazyloading in AO and try A3 lazyload or Rocket lazyload? Or wait just a tad longer until WordPress 5.5 comes out, which has support for native lazyloading?

Can I send you a private link of the website so you can see it? Without searching to resolve it of course!

don’t have an iPhone, so might not be that useful I’m afraid.

what you could try is disabling (and re-enabling) plugins one at a time and test to see if there is a conflict?

    Sure, I’ll do that.
    Thanks for your help !

    Hi,

    No ??
I’ve finally followed your advice, using the native WordPress lazy loading and keep the Autoptimize lazy loading unchecked.

well, native lazyload is a great alternative ??
