Image not displaying after Smush.it

    This is driving me crazy now, I dont know what to do because I have done alot of work on my site.
    I install the free version of Smush.it, I smushed the images then I discovered the images are not showing on the site again. I tried to re-upload the images again but images are not showing still.

    When I clicked edit image in the media library I saw the original image but dont know to fix this

    Can someone please help me out?

    Hello dokunbam,

    Could you post a link to your site where we can see images that are not showing? Are they returning 404 error when you try direct path from site?
    Could you compare if images on site are JPG and if JPGs are also in media library? I want to sure if extension is the same.

    Yes 404 error

    This is my homepage formatics.com.ng
    If you check in developer’s tool you see that all the images are returning
    Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)

    I will appreciate if there is a fix for this

    Can you please check if above URL is correct because I keep getting ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED error when trying to access your site.

    @dokunbam, Do you happen to be using any Cache/Minify Plugin, like W3 total cache/Jetpack or any other plugin.

    Can you please possibly deactivate it and give it a run.

    Apologies for the delay in response.

    I had a chance to check your site, and it is definitely not Smush that caused the trouble.

    When I try to fetch the image, the header comes up as “Content-Type: text/html;” instead of image, so you need to fix your .htaccess file.

    Even the dashboard icons are broken in your WordPress backend, that’s probably after some other plugin you installed that modifies the .htaccess file
