I have the free version of the plugin, I uploaded an image, added 2 hotspots, but I can’t see the image anywhere:
    – when I go to Preview, no image is displayed, just a message saying “Edit interactive image”
    – when I add the shortcode into a post, nothing is displayed at all

I can’t share a link to my page unfortunately because it’s a company newsletter that can only be accessed from our office network.

    Hello @alecsandrab,

Can you make sure that you’ve published your Draw Attention image?

Once you’ve published the image, you should be able to place it into any page or post with the [drawattention] shortcode.

We have a walkthrough of setting up your first Draw Attention image here: https://wpdrawattention.com/document/create-your-first-draw-attention-image/

Let us know if you need more help with this.

Hi. I have the same problem too, after updating from version 1.7.6: no image, just a grey area on the front end and no preview in the back-end.
I rolled back to old version and everything works fine now… I’ll try to update when the problem is fixed.

    Hello @lanquarem,

I’m sorry that you’re having this issue. Can you send me some details about what browser you’re using? We’ve upgraded quite a few test sites, but we haven’t seen this issue pop up and I’m not really sure what might be causing it. We did make some really big changes to the front end of the plugin, so I wonder if you might need to clear out your cache after upgrading to be sure all the newest files are being loaded.

@alecsandrab – are you seeing a similar issue where you see a gray box where you’d expect to see the interactive image? Or are you just seeing an empty page?

Hello @lanquarem – we just had someone else report this issue who could share a link to the page and it appears that it’s a caching issue. After upgrading to the latest version, please be sure to clear out any caches that you might have. It looks like the rendered HTML is being cached and is still calling old files that no longer exist, and not calling the new files, which means our code cannot run and the image can’t be rendered.

If you have any caching plugins (or if your host implements any server-side caching) please clear those as well as your browser’s cache

    Thanks,
    Nathan

Thanks for your help. I tried removing the cache but with no results… Back to 1.7.6

    Hello @lanquarem,

Are you familiar with using the browser console to troubleshoot issues? It would be helpful to know what errors or issues are being reported there after the upgrade?

Do you have a hosting company that allows for easy creation of a staging site where you could do the upgrade and send us a link that we could look at?

    Hi.
Sorry for answering late : I still have the problem with newer versions of (free version of) Draw Attention, and no message in the browser console about the problem… Works perfectly with Draw Attention 1.7.6
