• Hi there,

Thank you very much for the plugin. It’s great to be able to add an image to a RSS email!

I’m just having two small issues I was hoping you could help me with:

    1. I’m not not able to centre the image
    2. The image gets resized to a smaller size and does not take up the full width of the template (original image is 800×600).

I tried to tick “resize RSS feed image automatically to fit template in MailChimp, but the image then came out blurry.

Any idea how to fix these issues?

    Thanks!!
    Nathalie

Actually, I recommend not allowing MailChimp to resize the image, because it will blow up small images, which is why the image is blurry.

Do you have a link to your RSS feed so that I can verify that it’s being processed correctly? If you can also verify the settings you’ve chosen for the feed, such as the image size, alignment, full text or summaries, and if you’ve set the plugin to add the featured image to the feed, that would all be helpful information.

    Hi Robin,

Thanks for your very quick response!

The feed can be found at https://nathaliebakes.com/feed

I’ve tried different settings for the feed, but currently theses are settings:
    – The original image is 800×600 in size, but in the plugin settings I’ve used the mailchimp setting (300×600), ie. the biggest I could find:-)
    – RSS/Image width is also set to 300
    – Alignment: center
    – In wordpress, I’ve selected “full text” rather than summary, but am using the *|RSSITEM:CONTENT|* merge tag in mailchimp rather than the *|RSSITEM:CONTENT_FULL|*
    – I did not tick “Add the featured image to the beginning of the full post (uses General Image Settings)” as I want to avoid duplication and it seems to be pulling the featured image anyway.

    Thanks again for your help!!

Hi Nathalie! Thank you for the detailed reply.

So, the featured images that are being added to your feed are not coming from this plugin at all, but somewhere else.

From the plugin settings page: “The featured image will be added to the excerpt if your feed is set to summary, or if you enable the featured image under the full text settings.” Since your feed is set to full text and you’ve not enabled the featured image for full text, Send Images is not adding the featured image to your feed. Since the featured image is actually being added, though, it may be coming from your theme, or you may want to check if another plugin is modifying your RSS feed. I scanned the documentation for your theme and didn’t see anything obvious about the feed, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the theme is not adding it, just that I didn’t see one way or the other.

I would change your max width setting back to 560 (you didn’t mention it, but I think it’s set to 300, which is likely why the MailChimp image size is 300). That will allow the images that are naturally in your content to be the full width of your email, although it won’t affect the featured image that’s being added elsewhere.
