• We use WP2.3 as a CMS with multiple users posting stories and photos at all hours of the day and night. WP is superior in all respects except its photo handling and management.

The upload interface does its job — uploads the photo and allows one of just two sizes to be embedded into the story. But go looking for a photo you uploaded a month ago and you’re off into the deep weeds. This happens to us daily as we write about recurring subjects and people.

    Here’s what we need:

    1. Ability to search for photos by tags or alt text or even date published.
    2. Ability to upload a full-sized original version of the photo and have the plugin create several smaller versions, not just the thumbnail. This will allow us to link a large, but reduced, version of the photo in the story to the full-sized version so it doesn’t break our templates…while allowing us to also post a thumbnail on the post excerpt.

A related plugin that would output all of the uploaded photos of the prior 24 hours (for a “The Day in Pictures” feature) would be tremendous.

Are either of these things out there? If not, is someone willing to develop them for some small financial support?

  • Hi,
I need the same things too. I have a large user base who use posts individually, and like to add pictures and galleries.

I needed users to have their own folders to prevent images getting muddled.

The only plugin solution that gets close out of the box is ImageManager 2

Users can manipulate images and create their own folders and use the tinymce interface to place them in the posts.

This is as close as I have got.

    Regards
