Hi, I am trying to set up a link from an image to another page. I have an image block above a button. I have the same link in both places and both are set to open the image in a new tab.
When I click on the button, I am taken to the correct page. If I go back to the original However, if I click on the image, I am taken to the correct linked page but if I return to the original tab, I see an enlarged version of the image. I” have to click on the “x” to get back to the original referring page.
This happens regardless of whether or not I have the Lightbox enabled.

any ideas what I can do to fix this?

    Thanks

Please direct us to the exact image that demonstrates this behavior. It seems almost all images on your home page go to other conventional pages instead of single image pages like you describe.

I have attached a screen recording of what I am experiencing.

The images in question are the ones in the grid; The images in the first two sections are ok.

    Any suggestions are welcome

Thanks for the recording. That behavior only happens to me on occasion. Most of the time I only get the lightbox image and am not taken to the linked page. But I have seen it happen, so it’s not just you. Disabling lightbox on that page should resolve the problem. In doing so, it may appear to not have an effect due to caching. After disabling lightbox, flush your browser cache and that of any caching plugin you might have.

I also have trouble clearing the lightbox modal with the X in the corner. This can be due to some script running amok. There is a script error and several warnings logged in the browser’s console when the page loads. Possibly related to the script optimization that’s being applied (siteground-optimizer). After disabling lightbox, of course the unresponsive X problem will go away, but ensure that there are no more script errors in the console as well.

Thanks for getting back to me. I found that the lightbox setting did not have a effect. Long story short, I ended up deleting the offending blocks and re-entering them. For some reason, only the first row had the problem. All my settings were the same for all the rows, but only the first row was affected.
In any case, it’s working now.

    Thanks for your help
