image link: post vs attachment_id

  • I am stuck trying to get the Link URL to point to the actual post and not the attachment_id when user clicks the link to post button in the Image Uploader.

    This codex page is quite relevant, but I’m not able to make use of it.

    Can anybody share some attachment.php tricks or point me in the right direction? (There’s a few peeps with this problem on this forum.)

    Also, if editing attachment.php will allow me to preselect some default options in the uploader dialog (the ones I most almost always have to click a few times to get) that would be awesome and worth me putting the time in to customize my own attachment.php.
