Image Link Opens In Lightbox

    Hey Guys,

    I am using 3.6.1 WordPress and the theme “Tripod”. My menu links work correctly, but when I have images that I made links they don’t work.

    When I left click them they try to open as a lightbox .. and error out that the image can not be loaded. If I right click and open in new tab then it opens the page correctly albeit in another tab. This isn’t an issue with the template … everything was working correctly before I switched the permalink structure (stupid me). After it broke all my links I switched it back and now everything works again, except image links.

    What I’ve tried so far:
    1) double checking the links are correct
    2) re-linking using the hyperlink button, and using the image properties -> Link URL field
    3) deleting the image and reuploading it, choosing when I do so “link to: -> permalink address when I insert it”
    3) pleading, sobbing, and cursing vehemently in that order

    *edit: I searched all 10 pages worth of results for “image links” to no avail on finding a previous thread with this problem.

  • I know you said it isn’t theme related but your theme has the PrettyPhoto script in it and it looks like that is trying to create the lightbox for the images.

    Is there a theme settings/options page somewhere where you can remove the lightbox option?

    I mean maybe but I need the lightbox for my galleries …

    If I’m screwed is there another way to post my image links without the lightbox feature – for instance turning it off on a per page basis by getting at the code? I could drop it in dreamweaver or something …

    Pretty much anything is possible, its just a matter of seeing the code which unfortunately we don’t have access to as it appears to be a paid theme from ThemeForest.

    Ok I’ll take a look at the pages code in dreamweaver tomorrow and see what I can do. I’ll post back either way – thanks for the lead Jarret.
