image library not loading

  • When i tried accessing my images library, it wasn’t loading. I waited and waited and the loading icon was swirling to no avail.

    i tried different browsers and deleted caches and cookies, but still won’t load.

    previously i had another issue where i couldn’t edit my images. The image icon would come up broken. As i was trying to figure that out, the new problem of my library not loading arose.

    Any help will be so appreciated.

  • The first thing to do is deactivate all your plugins temporarily and switch to the default theme (2016, or 2015, etc) and then try accessing the media library again.

    Themes and plugins can affect how WordPress works sometimes.
    If the problem is solved, switch back to the theme you were using and try again to see if the problem arises.

    If not, activate each plugin one at a time and try the media library until the problem occurs. Then you have your culprit.
