Image Issue

I’m having issues with my images. When we insert them they look fine, then in the next few minutes or hours they turn black. They are black (and sometimes white) on the webpage and in the media library. When we click on them in the library, we see the image, but in the library or on the webpage, we do not.

We are using the them Twenty Sixteen. We have optimized all images, but that didn’t help. We have tried a different theme, and that didn’t help either. Our wordpress and plugins are all updated. We’ve looked at the site on mobile, PC, Mac and in a variety of browsers, and it happens in all of them.
