• I added a posting to my blog this afternoon. As is my habit, I inserted an image to the beginning. Published the posting and when I went to view it, there was nothing but the title. The comment fields were there as well as the edit link, but no body.

I remove the code for the inserted image and republished and the body appeared. I have an image embedded in the middle of the posting, and that made it ok.

Are we allowed only one image per posting? I used the insert image icon, filled out the information and selected ‘insert into posting.’

The only thing that MIGHT have changed – I’m trying to change the folder that this blog resides in. I copied everything into the new folder, in the general settings, changed the url and clicked save and got an error. I updated the database to change references to the new location back to the first one and everything was working fine until I tried to post this update. Could this have had anything to do with what I’m seeing now?

No. In fact I’ve just been working on a site that has 25+ images on some pages.

Quite possibly. See Moving WordPress Within Your Site before you go any further.

That’s the document I was using when trying to move the site. I had problems. I thought it would be just copying everything to the new location on the server, then from the old location updating the URLs. It wasn’t. I’m using the latest version of WordPress.

I took the picture from the middle of the posting and inserted it in the beginning and I got a blank posting.

I just created a test posting with an image inserted in the beginning and it worked.

The posting in question is rather long. Is it possible there is an issue with the theme I’m using with the length of the posting starting with an image? I suppose I could edit it. Maybe I have to check with the theme’s creator. I’m using Atahualpa 3.4.4.

Highly unlikely. A more likely cause is a problem with the image, it’s insertion or the content of the post itself. For example, are you pasting content in from Word?

I never found out if there was a character limit, but I severely edited the posting (cut it in half, in fact) and was able to insert the image in the beginning of the posting.

Never mind. I’ll just have to do a better job of editing myself in the future.
