Image Hotspot: Tooltip positions change on save

    We are experiencing an issue when using the Image Hotspot block where the tooltip positions are reset after updating a post. We have a workaround by being able to use the “Restore Block” button, but this is very inconvenient as these pages receive multiple updates a week.

    Steps to reproduce.

    1. Add an image.
    2. Add three tooltips.
    3. Publish the page.
    4. View the page on the front end to verify the tooltip position is correct.
    5. Edit the page by adding a new paragraph block.
    6. Update the page.
    7. View the page on the front end to verify change appears. Note: This is where the tooltip position changes.
    8. Edit the page and press the “Restore Block” button.
    9. Update the page.
    10. View the page on the front end to verify the change appears and the tooltip position is back in the correct place.

  • Hi,

    Same here, but this happens in a subsite of a WordPress multisite with an editor user. The editor user can “Atempt Block Recovery”, but to no avail. The Administrator user althoug can successfully “Atempt Block Recovery”.

    Hello guys!

    @cwhitmore, thank you very much for the steps to reproduce the issue. But I would like to inform you that locally everything seems to be working properly. I even tried to replicate it on an already published page and on the fresh one. And in both cases, I haven’t noticed the issue you’re referring to. I used Getwid version 1.8.2, PHP version 8.1, and WordPress version 6.0.2. If you use the same versions and you still have this issue, try switching to one of the default WordPress themes or try disabling plugins that you have to check whether there’s some sort of conflict or not.
