Image guide?

  • Hi!

    Is there any guide on how to use images with Make? I’m a total believer in the theme and wants to go Make Pro, but the setback I experience is that it is SO hard to get the images right. Everything from getting header and banner images working with different resolutions and devices to make column images show in a nice manner.

    I can’t find very much on the topic in the help sections or elsewhere online and this is really make it or break it for me and my decision to buy or not.

    You’ll be taken to a page already populated with content, but click the “Add New” button at the top of the Edit Page and then you’ll see the option to load demo content from a Quick Start Template. Those templates make image size suggestions, but they’re not hard and fast. We typically recommend you make your images as large as you can, but not so large that they bog down your page… It’s a delicate balance, I know.

    I have the same question, and I was not able to access the “Try Builder” page that you reference.

    The problem that I’m having relates to the fact that I am not able to crop images for my gallery page. When I upload an image to my Media file, the crop button is not available. Do you have any tips or guidelines for how to format images to optimally appear in the gallery?

    I’d recommend you use an actual image editor to edit and crop your images before you upload them. No pixel guide, but it usually works best if all your images are the same size/aspect ratio.

    “Try Builder” is in the FOOTER, not the top of the page. “Add New” adds a new page. The words “Quick Start Template” were not found on the new page.

    We actually removed the Quick Start templates a few months ago. ?? This post is pretty old. And yup, we rearranged things on the Make homepage also.
