Image Gallery question

Hello,
I have a quick question. Most of my posts have galleries with many pictures in them and when you click on a single pic and start going through the photos with next and previous, there’s no way to go back to the post. You can only go to the home page or somewhere in the menu.

Is there any way you can add something like “go back to the post” or “close gallery”or something?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

P.S. or maybe just a way to make images open in a new tab?
