    Hi there:

The i2.wp.com and other URLs similar to that are your images that are hosted through our Photon module. This module is required in order to use the Tiled Galleries feature as those galleries need to be dynamically generated to create that cool mosaic – which happens on our servers at WordPress.com.

I checked the gallery you linked to just now, and it’s loading fine for me. Let me know if you still have this problem and I’ll be happy to take a closer look. Some details about what you’re seeing would be most helpful.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Bizarrely it seems to have righted itself?
Is that just a domain name populating thing?

It was driving me crazy before!

    Thanks for your help anyway

I’m glad it’s working for you now! Feel free to contact us again if you need help.

    Marking as resolved.

Had a similar problem with my gallery for about a month… turning on Photon seems to help. Thanks guys!

@jetpack developers: Maybe it would be helpful for users of the tiled galleries to write in the FAQ or the description of the function in the plugin that the Photon-function needs to be enabled in Jetpack in order to make tiled galleries work. ??

the Photon-function needs to be enabled in Jetpack in order to make tiled galleries work. ??

That’s not actually needed, as Tiled Galleries will always use Photon, whether the Photon module is activated or not.

Turning on Photon consequently won’t make a difference here. If your images didn’t appear before and appear now, it could be linked to something else.
If you experience issues again, do not hesitate to start a new thread so we can take a look!

You are right, it didn’t really help. The problem occured again. I’ll start a new thread…
