Pages in sites where galleries are placed have the images dissapear visually. For some reason, after checking, some of the galleries where moved from the pre established tile option for galleries to other options, which I do not use. Those kinda work. The ones under tile option are showing blank. Example:
    https://adondeirhoy.com/conciertos-en-costa-rica/ha-ash-en-costa-rica-concierto-2016

The first blank space is set as 4 column thumbnail tiles the second one as mosaic. The first one eventhough the images are there, they can not be seen.

It appears that the missing images are actually not missing but rather
are plain white or blank images being served. For instance on:

The actual image file is that of a blank image. The file is being served and is loading on the front end, it just so happens it’s a an image of a white or clear square. These files are being served by a wordpress.com cdn via Jetpack (Photon). Because the image files are being served by wp.com and the resize function is done within the plugin.

For some reason jetpack cdn turned the thumbnails to white squares.

The page you linked to has a very large number of images in it.

Are you seeing the same problem for pages where the galleries have only several images in them?

If you don’t have any pages like this, can you create a test gallery with a few images in it to check this?

If you still see the problem, does deactivating Photon address the issue? You can do this here:

    https://adondeirhoy.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack_modules

Once we get some feedback, we can take the next troubleshooting step in resolving your issue.

Yes it happens in other pages with less images. For example here https://adondeirhoy.com/conciertos-en-costa-rica/soda-stereo-sep7imo-dia

the layout of the gallery changed by itself to mosaic, apparently it has happened in other pages also. In the page i mentioned before https://adondeirhoy.com/conciertos-en-costa-rica/ha-ash-en-costa-rica-concierto-2016 you can see the blank ones and below the ones that appear since the layout was moved to mosaic somehow.

If I change it to 4 colum tile the images dissapear as stated above. Disconnecting Photon to see what happens.

Photon deactivated. Varnish purged. No change.

Somehow and for an unknown reason galleries are being changed from Thumbnail Grid option to Tiled Mosaic.

    No answer on this yet?

I believe the problem is linked to some conflicts between Jetpack’s Lazy Images feature and other plugins on your site.

If you look at your browser’s dev console on a page of your site, you’ll notice some JavaScript errors. Those errors will break most of the features that rely on JavaScript, including Jetpack’s Lazy Images:
    https://cl.ly/ptNs

It’s hard to say what’s causing the error in the first place though, as you use a plugin to concatenate and minify all JavaScript. That plugin may actually be the one that’s causing the issue.

I would consequently recommend that you deactivate each one of the plugins on your site, one at a time, until the JavaScript errors disappear.

Let us know how it goes.

Could you go to Settings > Reading in your dashboard, and make sure the “Display all your gallery pictures in a cool mosaic.” is unchecked? If it is checked, all your galleries will use the tiled gallery effect by default.

Fixed, apparently it was the BJ Load plugin, which strangely has been there forever.

Eliminating plugin fixed teh galleries also.

I do not have that option on my dashboard FYI

Thanks for the time and guidance.

Excellent, glad to hear you could figure it out.

Since you’ve enabled Jetpack’s Lazy Images feature, you can indeed remove other plugins that would do the same thing, like BJ Lazy Load.

I’m sorry, I meant in Settings > Media, not Settings > Reading!

@jeherve I went to Settings > Media as I found now that page galleries have now the problem.

Tried to un-check Tiled Galleries – Display all your gallery pictures in a cool mosaic but it reamains marked.

Deactivated all plugins, still can not uncheck it. Any ideas?

    @jeherve UPDATE!

I had to deactivate Jetpack which is the one causing the error. Please advice since I have a PRO account

Could you tell me more about this? What happens when you try to uncheck the box? Do you get an error? What happens when you click on “Save Changes” after unchecking the box?
