I remove the post featured images in my site’s theme, opting to utilize Advanced Custom Fields, so I can have more than one, and change the image types that I may or may not need.

So, when I “post to social”, the images are obviously missing since the plugin looks for the featured images.

So, after some digging I found 2 filters: b2s_og_meta_image & b2s_card_meta_image, and after looking for some documentation for them, all I see is the method in the Meta.php class file in the plugin, and no real documentation for it.

What I am wondering here is 2 fold…

    1. When these filters are used, will they set the image for the post?
    2. Do you have documentation for the filters, and what they actually are used for?

If not for either of the above… how can I then set these posts up to socially post while using my custom fields?

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out.

There are many ways to select and share images with Blog2Social.

Please note that Blog2Social provides multiple options for selecting and sharing individual and multiple images as described in the documentation above. Even if you do not use the standard featured image class, you can select your preferred individual images from your blog post gallery or your media library to be shared with each of your posts. Blog2Social provides the option to automatically add your selected images to the meta tags of your post so that the networks can display your post with your selected image.
Individual changes in the classes cannot guarantee the smooth functioning of Blog2Social.
However, the standard option to select image data for custom types is already on our list for future developments. If more customers request this function, we will also implement this in one of our future updates.

You still are not answering my questions. Period.

My questions are as follows.. try to keep up ok…

    1. When these filters are used, will they set the image for the post?
    2. Do you have documentation for the filters, and what they actually are used for?

Sorry, if there was a misunderstanding.
The filters b2s_og_meta_image & b2s_card_meta_image carries the metadata specifications, not the specifications for images.
You can find our documentation for selecting images above. There is no other documentation for filters as these are no parameters to use for image data.
