Image fade on mouse over effect

  • hi guys I have been trying for ages to do this,

    all i want to be able to do is fade image A into image B on mouse over, when the mouse moves off the image then image B returns to image A. just a simple fade like i made with an online flash effects generator – https://www.effectgenerator.com/1.0.7/showeffect.php?id=518621

    just want to know how to do this in wordpress. which files i need to edit etc? have read countless tutorials but none of them take into account noobs and dont say where to put the CSS or jquery etc.
