Image Editor exceeding 30 second limit for php scripts

  • Since the upgrade I have had an issue with the wordpress image editor exceeding the 30 second limit my webhost has for php scripts on shared servers. My webhost’s only suggestion is a dedicated server. Any chance there is something I can do through WordPress to get this working in my favor again?

    What size images are you trying to upload? WP made a slight change in jpg image compression and that may be tipping things over the edge for very large images.

    The largest is about 850KB. I did get a 70KB to load after I saw the change you mention, but I can’t get most of my images to export that small! Nor do I want them to. But it may be my only option in the long run. Just hoping for a better answer!
