    Hello,

I have created several galleries with 4 columns. The images are 1024px wide and 400KB max.
The gallery is loading so slowly with the images stacked over each other, which seems to me that gallery is loading all the full size images and then adapting its size and position to fit the gallery 4-column display.
As I have read I have to use the cropping option just to create thumbnails of the images and increase the loading speed. I’ve tried several sizes combinations, from 0 to 500px, but nothings seems to happen. I think it is not working, as I can see it in the Inspector console in Firefox that it is loading the full size images.

Also I have checked any image treatment of my theme, everything is deactivated. No Jetpack plugin either.

By the way, should the cropping option affect the aspect ratio of an image? For example, making a 16:9 image a square image if I choose 300x300px cropping.

    URL demonstrating the issue: https://www.jaimefranch.com/creativa/
I’m using the latest version of everything:
    – WordPress 4.5.1
    – Envira Lite 1.3.5.9
    – Pinacle Theme 1.3.7

Am I doing something wrong? Is this an issue with WordPress 4.5?

Congrats for a great plugin. Just have started to play with it, but i like it quite a lot.

Thank you for your help in advanced!

    Best regards

  • No worries, glad you got everything sorted. Did you happen to have the Photon plugin acitvated on your Jetpack. I’m curious if you would’ve just deactivated that setting (rather then removing the plugin) if you would’ve been good to go at that point? We do know that the Photon option in Jetpack applies styling that conflicts with the galleries. But if you weren’t using Jetpack for anything crucial, I’m not sure it matters much at this point ??

If you’re using Jetpack, you must choose a value for the “Image Size” option in your Envira Gallery.

You cannot use custom Image Dimensions (e.g. 250×250) and have Jetpack enabled.

    Hello,

Maybe tama-iris issue is resolved or addressed, which I celebrate, but unfortunately mine is not. May I reopen this (my) support thread again?

As I described I’m not using Jetpack or any other plugin, and the cropping is still not working for me.

    Testing URL: https://demo.jaimefranch.com/galeria-envira/
As described above, TweentySixteen theme and only Envira Lite plugin.

I really appreciate your kindly help.
    Thank you and best regards.

Hi Shearwater, I have tried several times to recreate your issue (no plugins, 2016, even the same images) and I’m unable to replicate.

    Hello akyusa01,

Thank you for your time and fast support.

I suppose it has to be something wrong with my installation wordpress, because my issue is on the very basic usage of the plugin. I’ll try a fresh install.
One last question, ?does the images need to be uploaded through the Envira plugin?
    I’ve supposed no.

For me the thread can be closed, as you can’t replicate my problem and I don’t want you to lose more time on it.

Thanx again for your help and kindly support.
    Best regards.

    No worries Shearwater,

I’m sorry I’m unable to help much ?? No, you don’t have to upload via Envira, you can upload to your Media Library and choose the images from the Envira post edit screen.
