Just a few questions to help me display the images better.
First, when I change the compression rate in the Speed section of the Statically menu, how long before I see the changes take place?
    24 hours?
Boss is complaining that the images are terrible – which, they are.

We have Imagify on the site. That was set to “aggressive” – I changed it to “normal”.
At the same time, we also have Cloudflare, which I am checking on, now.
I am going to set up rules on the correct way to load images to the site (nothing over 500px, use compressjpg.com before loading), in the mean time, could you suggest, in your experience, where compression should begin and end?

    Thank you for your time.

    Hi there,

    Sure thing, happy to help!

Should be right away after you changed the compression setting, make sure you Purge All Cache on your cache plugin as well (to refresh the HTML).

By default or without q=, an image will be compressed around 15-30% from its original size, to replace this default simply change the Image Quality in the setting to 10-99. Most people use 85 to 90 to keep good quality and still get compressed images.

Please don’t hesitate if you have any other questions.

    Cheers,
    Frans
