After creating a child theme, you can change the value as outlined in the original Bootstrap documentation in /js/the-bootstrap.js and /js/the-bootstrap.min.js.

Thanks for your answer, may I ask you where should the references to the necessary files/overrides for child theme need to be placed? head or foot?
