• When I add a picture to a post and preview the post, everything is fine. When I call up that post in the site, sometimes the captions on the picture show correctly but most of the time I see the picture with the HTML Caption text surrounding the picture rather than appearing as a caption. For instance, prior to the picture I get:

    [caption id="attachment_405" align="aligncenter" width="584" caption="Garhauer Dingy Davits"]

    and after the picture I get:
    </caption>

    How do I fix this?

    BTW: I’m using theme Twenty-Eleven.

    can you be more precise with this ‘sometimes’?

    time of the day?
    when you view archives, or single posts?

    please post a link to your site to illustrate the issue;
    best one link where the caption shows properly, and one where the caption does not show.

    Actually I have examples where in the same post the captions work at the beginning and don’t work at the end. BUT… in trying to get you a link, I needed to eliminate the eMembers protection and when that is removed, the captions work as you would expect. SO… I guess this must be a eMembers issue and I will bring it up with them.

    Thanks for your help.

    Ever since the lastest update to WP, I have been unable to use the captions feature for any graphics when using the upload/insert feature. I type in the proposed caption and after uploading or linking takes place, the caption disappears as if I’d never put it in.

    This happens EVERY time.

    Examples: https://www.fedupusa.org/2012/01/habituating-to-contraction/ That graphic should contain the caption ‘habituation.’
