• Overall, I’m very happy with this theme. I think it’s very well designed and it fits my needs very weel. Thank you:-)

However, there are a few bugs:

Two issues are related to images:
    1. If I add a caption to an image in a blog post, part of the markup shows on the home page ([/caption] [caption id="attachment_482" align="aligncenter" width="570"]).
It doesn’t show in the single post view.

    2. Image appears twice. The first image in a blog post will always be feautured twice in the single post view – once before the title and then right at the beginning of the post right after the title. It doesn’t matter if the image is set as featured. It appears twice!

I saw someone else mentioning troubles with the footer. I have the same issues, and I think I’ll have to edit the footer.php, because nothing else seems to work.

    My site is https://nerdybynature.dk

  • Did you put an image on the front ?

No, and I don’t understand how the image above the title in the single post view can be shown, but not in the post itself. The image gets there by, at some point being part of the post.
I don’t put images specifically on the front. It seems to have a life of its own ??

Personally, I had a similar problem (at least it seems). By default, the theme insert an image above the title (this helps to illustrate how you should you expect, post). After if you want to change it, we must go in the php / javascript structure. Seeing the difficulty, I finally accept this fact. But I decided to check which image is above the title by choosing my image in focus.
If you choose this option and you see your picture on the front insert is not, recreate the same post not forgetting the imagge in focus.

Can you post a link to a sample post? I tried browsing through your blog pages but haven’t found one, yet, that shows the caption markup.

ChrouchingBruin, this is the post https://nerdybynature.dk/2014/03/autonomous-machines-the-windup-bird-does-art/
I actually just realised that the post is a video type. The other post where I used image captions have been “normal” posts and they haven’t shown the same errors.

Are you creating your own Excerpts? If you create your own excerpts, you can’t include shortcodes like caption in them because they won’t get expanded.

So instead of adding this to your excerpt:

    [caption id="attachment_481" align="aligncenter" width="570"]<img class="size-large wp-image-481" alt="autonomous-1" src="https://nerdybynature.dk/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/autonomous-1-785x523.jpg" width="570" height="379">[/caption]

What you can do is do a view source and add the actual HTML to your excerpt, because an excerpt will accept & process HTML correctly:

    <figure id="attachment_481" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="max-width: 570px"><img class="size-large wp-image-481" alt="autonomous-1" src="https://nerdybynature.dk/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/autonomous-1-785x523.jpg" width="570" height="379" /><figcaption class="wp-caption-text">Tiny Toy, Chicken. By Echo Yang.</figcaption></figure>

I know, kind of a PITA, but I’m not sure what else you might do, except perhaps look for a plugin that will expand your shortcodes within excerpts.
