image before post

I just posted my first post on the stargazer theme. I included an image in the post, and it looks great. However, on my main page where you can see snippets from the last few posts, there is a huge version of that picture above the actual post. Is there a way to not have a picture there? The picture is not very important to the post, so I don’t want it to be the main focus.
