• We are new to this CKEditor plugin as of 3.6.2.4, having used Dean’s plugin before that. CKEditor for WordPress is much easier to use, but it has an annoying quirk that, amazingly, went unfixed in the latest version.

The problem is that the class attribute on an uploaded image gets modified with every save, until you eventually get something that looks like this –

    <p>[caption id="attachment_183" align="alignleft" width="100" caption="Rope swings"]<img src=”/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/camp-colman1-100×100.jpg” alt=”Rope swings” title=”Rope swings” class=”size-thumbnail wp-image-183 wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft wp-caption alignleft” height=”100″ width=”100″ />[/caption]</p>

… and hey, how come this plugin won’t let us see or edit the caption in visual mode?

    Hi,
we will try check and fix problem with copying class attribute as soon as possible. Please be patient.
There is no way to edit caption in visual mode, this is design decision.
Maybe this will change in future.

Please try check latest DEV version.
Problem with duplicate classes attribute should be fixed there.
Please remember that this is DEV version, so you should use it with care.

    Hi,
one more thing to clarify. There is no way to edit caption ‘live’ in wysiwyg mode, but you can edit it by:
    – clicking right mouse button on image with caption and click ‘edit’ in context menu
    – double click on image with caption
