    I’ve spent quite a bit of time today in an attempt to install the slide viewer.

    I’ve installed it as a widget, but 75 percent of all the photos look too stretched out or too crunched inwards. I’m hoping there is an easier fix to either lessen the width of photos or the height by 15 or 20 percent. I hope I don’t have to do it the hard way – by re-formatting all the photos in Photoshop, then re-uploading the corrected photos back into the media files.

    I tried changes pica sizes in the ratio box, but that doesn’t correct the photo size. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

    If you have disabled the stretching option in the slideshow’s settings, the images shouldn’t be stretched by the slideshow unless the image height and width both are smaller than the slideshow itself, in that case the theme’s CSS may take over and stretch it anyways.

    Could I perhaps see the website you’re having the issue on?

    I removed the stretch feature and that solved the width issue on a couple of photos. However, the height feature now seems to be the challenge with getting the photos to look right.

    Note: All of my photos are larger than the window size of the widget for slideshow. I wish I had control of a cropping tool so I could select the best part of each photo to use. The current cropping tool I get when I click on the edit function of photos is always a faded out icon – meaning that it is not useable. Thanks for your follow-up.

    Thanks for the link to your website.

    To stop the slideshow from stretching the images, set the style settings to custom. Then change the ‘slideshow_container img‘ CSS class in the custom style editor to the following:

    .slideshow_container_563315152 img { height: auto !important; }

    The disadvantage of doing this, is that the images will stick to the top of their slides, since there’s no script support for handling this yet.

    Thanks for your response! In view of the spacing and balancing problem with slide photos, I bit the bullet and re-formatted the sizes on my photos in Photoshop by adding a black margin on photos that were not close to being a square. It only took about 20 minutes, and now I think everything works fine! Check it out and see what you think. I think the slide program works great.

    My next big challenge is trying to get the larger slideshow program to show up in the middle of a page. I read your forum where IE9 presents problems, and this must be why the slide program doesn’t show up on my website after I enter that code you gave to other folks. I won’t be able to get back to working on this until another 4 days. Thanks for your help up to now!

    Do you have the shortcode in a post or page right now? And if so, on what page did you put it? I could find out the error you’re getting.
