I'm thinking of changing my URL but need to know the issues

  • Currently my blog resides at https://www.ready2spark.com. I have recently developed a static website to showcase my products & services. I am considering whether to:

    1. Keep the blog as ready2spark.com and make the static website another URL. I understand the downside would be that any SEO benefits I’ve built with the blog will not translate to my static website. I also understand there may be some confusion as my company is named READY2SPARK.

    2. Make the static website ready2spark.com and the blog ready2spark.com/blog. I understand that RSS subscribers will need to update their subscription URL. Is this the only issue with this option or should I be aware of others? What happens to all of my permalinks?

    I appreciate any advice or tips you can provide as my blog has been around for 5 years and has a steady following. Many thanks in advance.

    I should also mention that the static website and the blog are both wordpress templates, but they’re 2 different templates.
