I have the latest greatest wordpress installed.

I checked settings > general, my email address is spelled correctly.

I checked settings > discussion the options are checked off correctly.

    Hi there,

I see that you’re using the plugins Google Captcha and Subscribe To Comments Reloaded that might interfere with Jetpack’s Comments. Can you please temporarily disable them and see if your issue is resolved?

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the late response.

As asked, I disabled both of those plugins and left another comment on the most recent blog entry.

I waited 5 min, zero email notifications.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks.

    Hey there, Steve!

Apologies for the late response on our part. It looks like you’re now using a different plugin to manage Comments Subscriptions.

If you’d like to give Jetpack Comments another try, please let us know – we’ll be happy to help! ??

I’m up for giving it a try.

As far as comment related plugins go I have

    – Google Captch
    – Replyable – Subscribe to Comments & Reply be eamil
    – Subscribe to comments reloaded

Should I deactivate all of those?

I have Jetpack, what would I activate in Jetpack?

    Thanks

    Steve

Thanks for checking back in, Steve! After taking a closer look, I suspect this might be unrelated to Jetpack. Just to confirm, were you specifically referring to these checkboxes:

    https://cld.wthms.co/uZvEHS

If so, that’s a Core WordPress feature, and should work without any plugins installed. If it wasn’t working, something may have been preventing your WordPress site from sending outbound emails.

If you’re using a different set of plugins to manage Comments, that may get around that email issue, if you are using a third-party email server (instead of using your WordPress install to send those emails).

Jetpack’s Comments form won’t change any of the above for you, but will allow your site’s visitors to easily sign up for emails of new Posts/Comments. You’d enable the feature by following the steps here:

    https://jetpack.com/support/comments/

Our Comments form also allows visitors to sign in using their social media networks or WordPress.com account.

If you’d like to test out Jetpack’s Comments form, let us know once you’ve activated it – we’ll be happy to leave a test comment and sign up for emails. ??
